When we toured Italy a few years ago our guide repeatedly stressed that we should never buy bottled drinks from anywhere but a proper shop, as she'd has a number of people made ill, some very seriously, due to them buying contaminated 'water' from street vendors (most of whom aren't Italian), in refilled bottles.
