I used to make a few decks a year. Using wood it could have been even a little bit lighter in appearance. You have less than 2 metres in-between your support rails. 125mm joists is enough for that if they are every 450mm and blocked in-between.

Yep. But it also needed to be sturdy. Here its usual that there's 5 feet high pile wet snow on top of it at the wintertime. So, making wooden one, with same stifness, would have needed much more thicker frame.
