Facing and Boring with 4-Jaw Chuck

A 4-jaw chuck accepts rectangular and circular and odd shaped parts. The 4 jaws can be adjusted individually. That permits many tricks or inventions.

For example:
1. A simple fly cutter of round stock with a small boring bar clamped excentrically to the 4 jaw chuck.
Suitable just for facing.

2. Boring, however, requires a finely adjustable ‚thing’ that can be clamped to the 4 jaw chuck.
The ‚thing’ forgoes a nice but nasty dovetail and shows the usefullness of ‚disc springs’.
