I've read some fish and shrimp farmers in east Asia dump sewage into their ponds to save on commercial food they have to add. Apparently, that's not legal in most places over there, but it's still done. Hopefully, the fish coming over, as well as those raised/caught here, are tested for pathogens and toxins before they make it to market.
