Too bad the clip cut off before they picked it up, managed to get it up the steps the second time and tried to convince the customer it was damaged in shipping to the warehouse and was not their fault nor responsibility. 

It's probably the proud new fridge owner that recorded the grand entrance.

And probably the reason the clip cut off right then as he or she didn't want anyone to see what they were going to do to the delivery guys. No collaborating evidence and all that, which could be used against the owner in a court of law.

The insurance company is going to love them. Also they were only using a single strap under the Frig, very unwise decision.

years ago I bought a real appliance dolly with rollers on the back, handles on the side and back as well as locations for extra straps top and bottom. I've moved so many heavy and VERY heavy items with it never once had any problems even with the giant 150 gal concrete filled water heater that took 3 people to move. I tied those strap things once, someone else had them. I stopped the move and went to get my dolly after that the guy went and bought his own dolly. Those straps are a nice idea but I have never seen them work for big heavy appliances. Washers, ovens, dishwashers yea, sure they are fine, but nothing else. Just in my experiences, anyway. All the professional delivery companies I have used also used dollies, and at most only used the straps if a last resort, they hated them.

Appliance dolly to the top of the deck stairs then straps the rest of the way. A good dolly leaves no marks on the floor or the appliance moved. Pool noodles on the vertical rails to protect the appliance and a good dolly will have V-Belts at the bottom to eliminate damage to the steps. I've used the straps and they're a huge pain on more than 2 or 3 stairs. The outcome here was inevitable given the amount of stairs and apparent lack of experience.
