1. It's zinc, not arsenic that's used for galvanizing. Zinc oxide is created/released when heated over 400 degrees or makes contact with acidic food.
2. A lot of Zinc oxide can make you sick ( vomiting), but won't kill you.
3. Smokers shouldn't get to 400 degrees and food shouldn't come in contact with the can anyway.
4. Supposedly sealing the metal with heat resistant paint will keep zinc oxide from being produced, but i couldn't find anybody who had actually tried it.
5. Decide for yourself if you want to try it. I think i might.
