How to make a tool post grinder for your lathe from a palm router.

This is how I turned a very cheap palm router into a pretty useful toolpost grinder for my lathe.
I was surprised at just how good the results were from grinding with this tool.
If you do make one please make a safety guard.
    Cheers

When cyl grinding you need to rotate the work in the opposite direction to the wheel, this stops the loose grit and debris (and there always is some) from being crushed back into the work. You will get a better finish that way. I dont grind in the lathe but instead I use a CBN tipped tool which will cut 65 Rockwell hardened tool steel for better than ground finish.

Rule #1 for Poor Welders. If nobody can see the poor welds, you're not as poor as you think you are. I'm a poor welder, too, but my welds are usually quite strong. Which would leave much room for grinding!
