That risk comes when its uninsulated and contains moving parts. "" I agree Tuomas, I knew a guy who used his tig torch as his electrode holder hen he needed to do a little stick welding. I thought the collet idea f those would be an excellent way yo make a holder providing they could be made robust enough to handle several hundred amps fo long periods of time and have the ability to go from 1/16" through 1/4" rods without having to change the collets
